Mukyū Shunkō—Hayate-ryū: (瞬閧疾風流; Tireless Flash War Cry—Hurricane Style)Kaname's Shunkō has the element of wind.While Kaname is using Shunkō, she has a large disc of wind behind her that rotates. The wind generated by the disc is fast enough to be seen with the naked eye.

• Shōin: (松韻; Music of the Wind among the Pine Trees) Shōin is Kaname's signature move in Shunkō. By winding up a large punch, Kaname is able to expend most of her wind in a single, concentrated gust. This gust only has a diameter of two feet. Shōin's usage prevents her from using any other ability for one round.
  
• Yamase: (山背; Cold Wind from the North)Yamase is a movement technique developed from her Shōin technique. Instead of using the wind with her arms, Kaname uses it on her legs to drastically increase her forward speed by 30 points for the instant it is used, sending her up to 2.5 miles away. This is ONLY her forward speed, and she can not make a turn or adjust her angle. She will travel in the direction she was aimed in. The main benefit of using this instead of Shunpō is that she can use this momentum for attacks. Her body can not handle multiple uses of it rapidly. After three uses of Yamase within a two-round period, Kaname is at risk of severe injury to her legs with each additional use.
  
• Kamikaze: (神風; Divine Wind) Kamikaze is Kaname's primary defensive move in Shunkō. Kaname creates a sphere of wind centered on her. If she is on the ground, it does not pass through the ground and only acts like a half-sphere. The sphere is approximately 50 yards in diameter. The sphere can not be moved once placed. The winds that make up the sphere are at a constant 150mph, meaning that contact with them would throw any normal person away. Kamikaze can be disrupted with stronger winds or something moving faster than 150mph. While Kamikaze is in use, the typhoon-like wind on her back shrinks signficantly.
  
• Ryū ga Gotoku, Hoshi ga Shiku: (龍が如く、星が如く; Like a Dragon, Like a Star) Kaname's ultimate move. It is a combination of her Shōin and Yamase techniques. She uses an upward Yamase when an uppercut connects or when she's able to grab an opponent. Once they reach her distance limit, Kaname pivots, placing the opponent between her and the ground. Kaname then uses Shōin to send the opponent back down at an even higher rate of speed. The final part is using another Yamase for her to reach the ground after the opponent lands. This is usually followed by a kick or punch. The rapid use of her wind, even with her Mukyū Shunkō, uses it entirely up resulting in the ending of her Shunkō. Her durability, strength, and endurance is lowered by 5 points in her arms and legs for 5 rounds afterward.

Shikai Name: Gajōkishibe (牙城岸辺; Riverbank Bastion)
Shikai Appearance: Gajōkishibe takes the form of a twin-barreled cannon attached to Kaname's right hip by an armored belt.
Shikai Abilities: Gajōkishibe's twin barrels can fire Kidō-like blasts in alternating fire. The type of blast is determined by the type of "shell" used. Each barrel can take its own shell, and each is loaded with the Type-1 Shell upon release. Once per round, Kaname can replace the shells loaded with a different shell.

Type-1 Shell: The standard type. The Type-1's blasts are similar to a Shakkahō. They are Reishi compressed into an oval shape that have a minor explosion upon impact. It is best suited for long-range combat.
Type-2 Shell: The Type-2 is best for medium-range combat. The Type-2 uses smaller blasts, but due to this the fire rate is tripled. Effectively a Kidō rifle set to fully automatic.
Type-3 Shell: The Type-3 is best for short-range combat. It disperses the energy into smaller pieces while also spreading them out from the barrel. This basically makes Gajōkishibe's cannons into shotguns.

Character Synopsis

Kaname Furukawa is the head of the Furukawa family. She is the mother of a few children, notably the First Division Lieutenant Takahiro Furukawa (although he is no longer officially part of the family). She is also the one who adopted Jin Furukawa.
