Kidō: Kei's skill with Kidō is, without a doubt, incredible. She's a prodigy with it. Or rather, she's more like a perfect vessel with an ideal balance between two forces—one of raw, destructive power that is found in Hadō and one of a desire of control that can be directly applied to the world outside that is found in Bakudō. Unfortunately, this balance leaves very little room for other types of Kidō. Tracking Kidō, Kaidō, and Kidō that are designed to confuse an opponent or obscure oneself she is woefully average at. Kaidō. especially, is horrible for her. However, she does have a knack for Kidō that are good at keeping things out. Thus, shields like Dankū are almost as good as her other Bakudō. Kei does have a unique ability that lets her switch the elements of fire-based or ice-based Kidō to the other. This is further enhanced later on.

• Sanjū Eishō (三重詠唱, Threefold Incantation): This is perhaps the best way to show Kei's skill in Kidō. Sanjū Eishō is casting three Kidō at the same time using full incantations Kidō. The amount of self-control required means that this is simply impossible for most practitioners of the skill. However, Kei has such a knack for Kidō that this actually is possible for her. All three Kidō must equal her Kidō skill when added together (currently that means, for example, both #60 and a #65 is her highest average level.

Reiatsu: Kei has very expressive Reiatsu. This means that the effects of her Reiatsu are far stronger than her tier. This doesn't mean that she can exert more pressure. Instead, environmental effects caused by her elements are stronger. Kei has trouble controlling the effects caused by her Reiatsu. This usually happens during a bad mood or something of that nature. At most, she makes it warm enough that a cold drink starts sweating and the ice starts melting or she makes glass start frosting over like a good morning freeze. Nothing harmful, but more annoying. That's when she's controlling herself however. If she were to put her full effort into using her Reiatsu, it would be like being in the desert during both the hottest day in summer and the coldest night in winter.

Shikai Name: Atsukōyō (暑凍陽; Warmth of Frozen Sunlight)
Shikai Description: Upon release, Atsukōyō's blade erupts into flames before the metal itself fades away into flame. Atsukōyō becomes a blade of fire erupting from the hilt. However, these are not normal flames. Kei can slash out and cause waves or fire or streams of fire. She can also do things like create a wall of flame. From those flames, Kei can recite a second command phrase—Teppōkōri (鉄砲氷; Flash Freeze)—causing the existing flames to become ice. This reveals Atsukōyō's true self, a fire and ice type. The flames retain their shape, velocity, and direction when frozen. At that point, Kei can recite another phrase—Teppōhakka (鉄砲発火 ; Flash Ignition)—and the ice becomes flame again. She can switch between ice and fire once each per post.

Kei has the ability to control enough flames to produce a 20-foot×14-foot×1-foot wall of flame (roughly 280 cubic feet). However, she has an additional ability that can increase it. Hyōketsu Hitai (氷血火体; Iceblood Firebody) works by absorbing her blood—one pint at a time. Each pint given to her Zanpakutou triples the amount of fire she can create—and this stacks with itself (1 pint=3×, 2 pints=9×, 3 pints=27×, etc.). Kei can easily kill herself with this ability.

Bankai Name: Jinsei Mosukōyō (神清燃凍陽; Godly Cleansing Frozen Flames)

Bankai Description: Jinsei  Mosukōyō no longer needs a handle. It burns away entirely. The flames are controlled primarily through her mind. However, the speed and precision of the flames is increased dramatically if she uses her hands to guide them. Kei can split her control of ice and fire between her total amount. Thus, she can control limited amounts of both at the same time or a lot of one. The base amount of flames she can create goes up by five times, increasing her to a 100-foot×70-foot×5-foot wall or 35000 cubic feet. The pint-to-multiplier ratio also increases to a 5-times stacking multiplier. She retains her Shikai's two commands. She now has a third command—Itariten Hanten (至点反転; Solstice Inversion)—that allows her to reverse the qualities of the two. Thus, fire will freeze and ice will burn. They still look and behave like their base selves—fire will spread like fire, only it will not burn. While in Bankai, she also has the ability to switch any Kidō's element to fire or ice. When done like this, the Kidō doesn't get the ability to switch attributes via Teppōhakka and Teppōkōri.

Character Synopsis
Kei is someone who has a natural predisposition for tragedy and hardship. That isn't to say she's one that goes out and looks for it, nor does she like to cause it. It just happens to her a lot more than normal. That's why she's gotten stronger. That's why she protects herself behind her cold, hard exterior. She will continue to grow stronger until tragedy and hardship are but a bygone memory...

But the fact is, Kei's like a really old and partially-frozen chocolate-covered cherry that someone forgot. Sure, she's dark and mysterious. Sure, she'll break your teeth if you try to hard. But deep within her is a soft, vulnerable exterior. But just like a chocolate, once you break through and see that, there's no un-seeing it. Just like there's no stopping her from spilling out on you. Kei will get immensely attached once that happens.

Kei, due to her circumstances, had to get stronger. She was called weak in the Academy, and because of that... Kei funneled her strength into things that she could do while being unarmed. Kidō and Hakuda are her main form of combat. Kei understood that in those kinds of situations, running away is impossible. She may not have her sword. So she had to man up and learn how to fight. And she'll fight like a starving, caged wolf. She'll claw, bite, punch, kick, and even tear at if she has to. There's a rumor going around that she bit off the manhood of some guy that was pestering her, but that's all that one is—a rumor. But she does have the capabilities for it, and she would if she had to.

Now, Kei is 99% a Lesbian. She thinks most men are pigs and just want a certain something from her. She could have male friends, obviously. But she'd never truly trust them, nor would she let them know her most vulnerable secrets. No, that's saved for whatever lady wins her heart. Kei tries to flirt with whatever women she finds attractive, but her poor social skills (and the fact that she's part of a small percentage of women in the Gotei) tend to lead her to get rejected.

Off-the-books, Kei runs a shelter in the North Rukongai for abused women, prostitutes and addicts trying to turn around, female victims of violent crimes, etc. called Jo'ōkoku (女王国; Queen's Country). It's one of the things she's known for outside of her work within the Gotei. No men are allowed inside of it. Deliveries are accepted outside by the female staff and brought in solely by them. Even before becoming a Captain, she had the Fourth Division's assistance with this. Captain Eisuke Aida felt this was one of the most pure endeavors brought forth by a member of the Gotei, and he is the only male noted in the legal documents pertaining to it as he has helped fund the center. In fact, Eisuke surprised most by being the one to suggest she be promoted to Captain.
